Giuliana Fumagalli

Giuliana Fumagalli, Mayor of Villeray-Saint-Michel-Park-Extension

Giuliana Fumagalli has been Mayor of Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension since 2017. An anthropologist, daughter and granddaughter of Italian immigrants, she has worked for more than 20 years as a union activist, as well as in social movements and community groups. She is driven by the desire to make a difference in people’s lives and relies on the community’s collective intelligence to build more equitable and supportive neighbourhoods, where decision-making starts with the people.

Giuliana Fumagalli, mairesse de l'arrondissement Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension et cheffe du parti Quartiers Montréal

She was born on the edge of the Saint-Michel district, near the steeple of the Ste-Cécile parish. Fed on Italian sweets from the pastry shops of François-Perrault, she has been deeply involved in community life and politics in Parc-Extension for the past 20 years.

She has always been active in her workplace and in her community, promoting change and civic solidarity.

Deeply rooted in the borough since her childhood, Giuliana Fumagalli carries diversity in her DNA. With a preference for building solutions over naming problems, her favourite tools are dialogue and listening. Pragmatic and daring, she does not hesitate to stand up for the common good.

Giuliana Fumagalli represents us and rallies us. She is the woman for the job.
